Shortly after Google announced that their augmented reality glasses would soon be made available to developers, Google engineer Babak Parviz remarked that he hoped to incorporate his own contact lens displays into the system as well. At the time, the idea that the display sits beneath the eyelid sounded like it would render closing one’s eyes useless in trying to look away from something like a popup ad or, say, goatse.

Sight is a short film that imagines how a world where AR contact lenses have become commonplace might look. I’ve gotta admit, I could get a lot of use out of TheFridge and Chef Master apps. But the creep factor behind the Wingman app makes the whole system seem like something we could do without. Remember Girls Around Me?
