Thousands of websites became unreachable when GoDaddy servers suffered an outage for a number of hours on Monday. While GoDaddy has assured customers that none of their data has been compromised, whether or not the downtime was the result of a malicious attack remains to be seen. For now, someone claiming to be both an “(~Official member~)” and the “security leader” of Anonymous is taking responsibility, and getting a lot of press for it.
TechCrunch, ZDNet, CNN, CBS and more are reporting how @AnonymousOwn3r is claiming to have taken down the domain name giant.
Could this own3r of Anonymous, this leader of Anonymous, this (~Official Member~) of Anonymous be the kingpin responsible for the attack? According to some guy:
>Anonymous
>Has Twitter account
>Official member of Anon
>Palms are sweaty
>Knees weak arms are heavy
>It’s falling out of my router already
Update: GoDaddy denies being attacked, says Anonymous had nothing to do with it. [manolith]
