This Friday and Saturday, the best and brightest minds in the ROFLsphere will converge at MIT to discuss the ever-evolving world of Internet memes, viral videos, and more. This time around, our very own Whitney Phillips will be speaking about her experiences researching Internet trolls at the University of Oregon, on a panel alongside Kate Miltner (London School of Economics), and Jordan Lefler (Louisiana State University), moderated by our good friend Patrick Davison of Meme Factory.
Other panels you ought to check out include The MetaMeme, with panelists Lindsey Weber (BuzzFeed), Christopher Price (Tumblr’s Topherchris), the guys behind Shit Girls Say, and Slacktory‘s Nick Douglas; and Becomes an Advice Animal: Talks About It with Scumbag Steve, Don Caldwell, Amanda Brennan, and Brad Kim from Know Your Meme.
Okay, enough plugging of the panels that friends of mine are sitting on. There are a ton of other good ones going on, featuring the likes of Isaiah Mustafah, Antoine Dodson, and more. You can check out the full schedule here!
